About Me

Hello! My name is Jonathan D. Thompson, the author of this blog.

Background

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York by a Jamaican American father and Haitian American mother. Growing up I’ve been familiar with the Flatbush, Crown Heights and Mill Basin neighborhoods. For college I went upstate to Rochester as it was probably the only chance I thought to force myself out of comfort zone and experience places beyond NYC.

At the time of this writing, I currently work as a reading tutor at a school where set up a book club where we read various books to students so that their reading comprehension can be up to grade level.

My Strengths

I feel I have a great desire to learn and constantly especially on a subject I am interested in. Working with this, routinely I am reading books or on the Internet to deepen my understanding and excel in what I am already good at. I want to be as informed as possible about what I am going to do next, so good thing I enjoy collecting knowledge on topics I am focused on. And maybe because I have a lot of info on a variety of topics I had passing interests in, I might ask others to prove the claims they might make. Not to destroy other people’s ideas but to ensure that their theories are sound.

What I want to do

I currently have a B.S. in Biomedical Sciences, and still looking for options as while I excel in studies, I haven’t really had enough experience to decide what profession stands out to me. So far I’ve been encouraged to look at being a Nurse practitioner and could see that.

In addition to the sciences, I’ve always had drawing as a hobby been interested in cartoons. At the same time as getting my degree, I did and still considering being a part time freelance artist. When it comes to drawing I am interested in character design and making storyboards/sequential art.
